The rapid growth of the e-commerce industry in recent years has driven significant advancements in intelligent warehousing and logistics. AGV, an acronym for Automated Guided Vehicle, is categorized into assembly-type and transport-type vehicles. Initially developed for warehousing and logistics, AGVs are now widely applied across industries including tobacco, automotive manufacturing, home appliances, textiles, healthcare, papermaking, electronics, logistics, and express delivery. Their primary functions include material/personnel transportation and flexible production line reconfiguration.
In large-scale warehousing and logistics operations, AGVs primarily serve transportation purposes. With China's demographic dividend diminishing in the 21st century, manufacturing enterprises face labor shortages, rising workforce costs, and operational challenges in high-intensity environments like warehousing and express delivery. Currently, AGV motion control structures in China are categorized into three types: standard two-wheel differential, steering wheel, and hub structures. The two-wheel differential system achieves steering through speed differentials between two drive wheels, while the steering wheel structure employs a dedicated AGV mechanical design with external encoders and a dedicated steering motor shaft. The hub structure operates on principles similar to the two-wheel differential system. For specialized applications, four-wheel omnidirectional configurations using Mecanum wheels are also implemented.

These enhancements strengthen system safety, adaptability, and simplify peripheral hardware wiring.
Through collaborative efforts with industry partners, Hollysys' complete low-voltage servo motor and driver series have achieved mass deployment in e-commerce warehouse AGVs.
